The scientists analyzed the DNA of 800 people with blue eyes and concluded that all people with blue eyes share the same ancestor.

However, if before 10 thousand years ago there would have been a genetic mutation, today we had only people with brown eyes.
In a study at the University of Copenhagen (Netherlands) it was concluded that all people with blue eyes share the same ancestor.
Of all the participants in the study 99.5% had the same mutation in the gene that influences our eye color. In other words, they share the same DNA.
This also indicates that a person has been responsible for the mutation.
Mutations can occur for a variety of reasons, writes Annabel. Some believe that blue eyes make people more attractive as partners, based on natural selection.
